Pineapple, spice, and everything nice. Our take on the traditional Mexican drink send your taste buds to the moon and back.
We teamed up with Thomas Rodehuth, muralist, designer and stylist here in LA, for our spicy new seasonal. Keep reading to learn more about the inspiration behind the can.
Tell us about the approach you took when designing our can:
Being asked to design a design for the Fall/Winter Seasonal, I immediately thought that I wanted to design something floral (which doesn’t make that much sense when you think about it, but there are these specific flowers that bloom in the last days of summer or early autumn days and their vibe is different than flowers you see in spring or summer).
They are telling us “get cozy”, “feel a cold breeze coming in” or “put on one more layer”. I drew kinda fantasy flowers for the can design but in my head these bloom only when it’s getting a lil’ chilly.
Are there other artists you admire?
I love the works of some Midcentury animators, especially Zdeněk Miler, Maurice Noble who did a lot of Looney Tunes backgrounds or the late works of Mary Blair - their works always inspire me.
What is the best piece of advice you've been given?
“Continue this.”
What do you like about Better Booch?
Of all the kombucha brands out there, Better Booch is the only one I buy when I see it.
Do you have a favorite medium or style and why?
At the moment I really like painting with acrylic paint and oil on paper but I like getting my hands dirty so I’m open for a lot of other things.
What are you excited to be working on this year? Share with us where we can follow along:
I’m very excited to work on a few upcoming murals and currently I’m working on a series of paintings about a TV show that helped me get through a breakup.
